SOUTHERN VERMONT ECONOMY PROJECT (SVEP)

Now in its fourth cycle of operation, The Southern Vermont Economy Project provides webinars, small conferences, mini-summits, technical assistance and training to help advance local economic and community development projects that are critical to creating prosperity in rural Southern Vermont.

ABOUT SVEP

SVEP began in 2016 when the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation was awarded $230,000 through the USDA Rural Community Development Initiative. SVEP initially focused on building capacity around economic literacy in our region. SVEP 2.0 and 3.0 were funded again in 2019 and 2022, with each iteration responding to current regional needs. Thanks to a new award from USDA RCDI in 2024, SVEP 4.0 will run through September 30, 2027.  SVEP 4.0 will continue the successful work to help communities and non profits increase their capacity through skill building trainings and support for collaborative networks in key areas determined by the SoVermont Zone Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and in collaboration with local community and economic development partners.
