Our workforce programs and partnerships are designed to foster a skilled regional workforce that gives southern Vermont a competitive edge.

AVAILABLE PROGRAMS

BDCC provides job training, career coaching, and education to empower today’s working Vermonters and prepare tomorrow’s workforce through the programs listed below.

WORKFORCE OPPORTUNITY FOR RURAL COMMUNITIES (WORC)
Explore a range of empowering programs, including WORC training classes for youth, adults, and New Americans (such as healthcare-focused training), VEP clinics, the Engen Learning Lab, and upcoming digital literacy workshops.

WORKFORCE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAMMING SPACE (WE)
Located in a vibrant space on Flat Street in downtown Brattleboro, BDCC’s Workforce Center of Excellence provides a welcoming environment for building brighter futures through innovative programming and opportunities.

P3 PIPELINES & PATHWAYS PROGRAM
The Pipelines & Pathways Project prepares Vermont students for high-wage, high-growth careers by connecting them with local employment opportunities.

Creating a welcoming southern Vermont for everyone with programs designed for newcomers, including young professionals, new Americans, and all types of relocators.

REFUGEE EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Providing tailored employment services to help refugees build meaningful careers and achieve economic independence in Southern Vermont.

WELCOMING WORKPLACES
BDCC’s “Welcoming Communities” initiative is aimed at helping employers attract, retain and support BIPOC Vermonters as well as new Americans. With support from the Vermont Community Foundation, BDCC is offering no cost trainings to help your workplace become more welcoming. Contact abeck@brattleborodevelopment.com for more information.

VERMONT EMPLOYMENT PATHFINDER
This tool uses AI-driven technology to connect Vermonters with education and job opportunities, helping job seekers showcase their skills and employers find talent in a challenging workforce environment.

THINK VERMONT GROW
Through the Think Vermont GROW program, BDCC offers one-on-one support, events, and resources to help newcomers relocate and thrive in Vermont.

SOUTHERN VERMONT YOUNG PROFESSIONALS (SoVTYPs)
Blends socializing, recreation, professional development, networking, and community engagement to connect Windham County residents aged 22-45 and deepen their ties to the community.

WORKING COMMUNITIES CHALLENGE
An event bringing together grant recipients, supporters, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, celebrate progress, and strengthen connections. Focused on addressing workforce challenges in small and rural communities, the summit highlighted the teams’ shared commitment to creating systemic change and building strong, sustainable local economies.

WELCOMING WORKPLACES
